Build slot reservation terms
Last updated October 26, 2026
What the reservation is
A $250 build slot reservation holds your place on the CtrlAltDash build list. Paid reservations are scheduled before free-list signups, in the order they're paid. A reservation is not a purchase of a specific product, and it does not lock in a price or an install date.
What happens next
After you reserve, we confirm your exact vehicle and current head unit, then book a design call. If we can build for your vehicle, we send a written quote and build agreement. You decide whether to approve it.
Refunds
- Your $250 is fully refundable, for any reason, until you sign your build agreement. Ask by replying to any email from us, and we'll refund it to your original payment method, usually within 5 business days.
- If we can't build for your vehicle, we refund the full $250 without you needing to ask.
- Once you sign your build agreement, the $250 is credited toward your build, and the agreement's terms apply from then on.
Deposit and balance
When you approve your build agreement, a deposit of 50% of the quoted price (less your $250 credit) orders parts and starts your build. The remaining balance is due at handoff, after your walkthrough. Both are invoiced through Stripe. The build agreement sets out the parts, schedule, warranty and cancellation terms for your specific build.
Availability
We take a limited number of builds each month. Wait times depend on parts and on your place on the list. We'll keep you updated, and you can ask for a refund any time before you sign.
What we don't do
We don't remove or disable emissions equipment, and we don't change engine calibrations. Our dashboards read vehicle data; they don't write to engine controllers.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
